AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The Assembly of Jabal Amel Scholars in Lebanon issued an official statement, condemning the decision by the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs to declare Mohammad Reza Sheibani, the appointed ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Lebanon, as persona non grata and to revoke approval for his acceptance, calling it irresponsible and illegal.
In its statement, the assembly emphasized that continuing this political course poses a serious threat to Lebanon's unity, stability, and national interests. It called for an immediate reversal of this decision and endorsed the stance of the Parliament Speaker and the Ja’fari Mufti of Lebanon in opposition to the expulsion of Iran’s ambassador.
The Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Tuesday that the country's diplomatic apparatus had decided to revoke its approval for the appointment of Mohammad Reza Sheibani as the ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Beirut. The Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs claimed that the reason for this action was a violation of diplomatic norms and established procedures between the two countries.
